POLICIES & PROCEDURES
• Before and after Class (the class needs to be ready to use again once you leave)
o Make sure things are in order and presentable. (before your class and after for the next class)
Tables and chairs need to be straight and clean.
Trash needs to be picked up.
All leftover teaching materials and papers need to be removed from the room.
White boards need to be erased after each class.
Lights need to be turned off after class.
o Take any empty coffee containers to the kitchen and place them on the counter. (second hour classes need to take all remaining coffee containers to the kitchen)
o Throw away any trash or leftover food.
o Cups and condiments that are left over need to be straightened so as not to be an eyesore.
• Cups, Condiments, and Food
o All coffee and condiments are ready and waiting at coffee pick up in the Ed Building in Rm. 102.
o These items need to be picked up by a member of your class.
o All food, drinks, and condiments need to be placed out in an attractive and decorative manner.
• Activities
o Whenever the church facilities are used for activities, they need to be restored to their pre-activity state immediately following the activity.
o If the kitchen is used it needs to be cleaned as per kitchen clean up procedure posted in the kitchen.
o Any and all leftovers from activities involving food at the church must be thrown away. Do not store leftovers in the refrigerator. This also includes beverages made in the large dispensers .
o Acquiring keys needed for activities, i.e. Van or Building, is the responsibility of the teacher hosting the activity. The Wednesday night prior to the activity should suffice.
o No activities involving...:
mixed swimming
coed unmarried lodging
movie theaters
contemporary Christian music concerts
Christian concerts/preaching or Christian entertainment hosted by churches of non Independent Fundamental
baptist affiliation
…will be sanctioned by the church, nor can the church or its facilities, including classrooms, be used to promote such activities or any activities that would in any way bring a reproach upon the name of Christ.
o All activity request forms must be turned in and approved before the activity is promoted to class, and at least 3 weeks before the activity date.
• Substitute Teachers
o Barring illness or family emergency, one full week is required for reserving a Sunday School Substitute teacher (This is out of consideration for that teacher and the time it takes to adequately prepare.) Remember a lack of preparation on our part should not constitute a sense of urgency for another.
o In case of illness or emergency, The Sunday School Admin. will be available schedule permitting.
o It is ok if you pick your own substitute and it is preferred that you use one of the people from your class.
o All substitutes must be approved by the Sunday School Admin. before being approached by the teacher.
o If insufficient time is given, and no alternative can be found for your class, then it may be that your class will have to meet with another for that Sunday.
• Decorations (Décor should change to some degree with the seasons) Classes should look sharp, feel warm and inviting, and convey a sense of purpose and care.
o Wall Décor
All décor containing Scripture must be King James Version.
All wall décor must be in a frame or on a bulletin board except posters.
If frames are needed, please see the Sunday School Admin.
All posters must be professional quality, and must be mounted on the wall using a form of adhesive that will not damage the wall, and that will be hidden from view.
Thumbtacks are to be used in bulletin boards only.
Unless you are hanging a frame, no holes should be made in the walls.
